8 Hour Suspended Scaffold Supervisor Refresher (SCA-401)

Students who attend this training course need to submit their 32 hour suspended scaffold supervisor ID card from an approved training provider. The student’s original scaffold ID card needs to be renewed within one year from the expiration date. If student does not refresh their card within 1 year from its expiration date, they no longer qualify to attend the eight hour refresher and will need to retake the original 32 hour suspended scaffold training course.
This training course has been designed for employees who wish to renew an expired or soon to be expired 32 hour Suspended Scaffold Supervisor ID card in order to continue to be able to supervise and use suspended scaffolds in New York City.
According to 3322.214.171.124 of the 2014 NYC Construction Codes, New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) states it is mandatory to complete this course in order to continue to supervise & use suspended scaffolds in New York City. The authorized supervisor of suspended scaffolds must successfully complete this eight hour suspended scaffold supervisor refresher course four years after completing the 32 hour suspended scaffold supervisor training course as well as every four years after. Consequent to successfully completing this training course, students will receive an 8 hour suspended scaffold supervisor refresher course picture ID card that will be valid for four years.
Swing Staging Training & Safety, LLC provides certification of specific OSHA and Scaffold operations and use. With presentation, equipment awareness, and physical interaction or widely used as well as new products in a classroom setting and practical operation of heavy equipment widely used throughout the industry in a practical room fitted with state of the art products. Students operate and fully inspect the live equipment they use and/or see on their job sites.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe scaffold accident prevention techniques
- Use particular Department of Buildings or OSHA safety regulations when working on suspended scaffold systems
- Display useful skills required to correctly install and maintain fall protection systems used on suspended scaffolds.
- Administer different connection methods utilizing ropes, knots & hitches assemble the wire rope termination for hoisting rope.
- Identity the essential responsibilities entailed with being a suspended scaffold supervisor on a New York City construction project

All course dates are subject to change due to class size.
Please bring the following items with you to class: Pen/Pencil, Paper to take notes, and a Photo ID. It is recommended to wear comfortable clothes and sneakers for the practical part of the course.
Refund Policy: Refunds are not permitted for courses that have been partially or fully completed. Full refund minus $25.00 service fee per person will be allowed if cancellation within 72 hours of class. Cancellation within 48 hours will be refunded 75 % of class cost, minus $25.00 service fee. Cancellation within 24 hours of class without a positive COVID test will result will receive 50% refunded minus $25.00 service fee. Refunds will not be issued for no call no shows or cancellation with less than 4 hours’ notice without a positive COVID test. If you test positive for COVID at a medical facility, home tests not accepted, you will be refunded 100% of class minus $25.00 service fee. Failures do not constitute refunds.
