2 Hour Silica Hazard Awareness (English/Spanish)

There are no prerequisites for this training course. However students must be able to communicate with
the educator in the language that the training course is provided in.
Audience: This training course was created exclusively for employees in New York State participating in the everyday
construction business where employees and the public may possibly be subjected to dangers created by automobile or construction equipment.
Event Description: This training course educate employees on the new OSHA standard 1926.1153 regulations, on how to stay protected and in compliance. Exposure to silica occurs during multiple operations such a cutting, sawing, drilling and crushing concrete, brick, ceramic tiles, rock and stone products as well as other operations. Training will include and introduction to Silica, the hazards and risks related to its exposure, and what controls, PPE, and safe work practices can be used to prevent exposure and illnesses.

to wear comfortable clothes and sneakers for the practical part of the course.
