8 Hour Pipe Scaffold Installer/Dismantler Refresher Training

Prerequisite: Students attending this course must present a 32 hour supported scaffold installer/remover license from an authorized training provider. The student’s original scaffold ID card must be renewed within a period of one year from its expiration date. If the student does not renew their card within one year from its expiration date, they will no longer be qualified to participate in an eight hour refresher. The student must retake the original 32 hour class Pipe Scaffold Installer/Dismantler.

Audience: The eight hour pipe scaffold installer/dismantler course has been designed for students who need to renew an expired 32 hour supported scaffold installer/dismantler license so that they may continue to supervise & use supported scaffolds in New York City.

Event Description: According to New York City Local Law 52 of 2005, in order to continue to install or remove Supported Scaffolds in New York City, students must successfully finish the eight hour pipe/supported scaffold installer and remover refresher course. Students must complete the eight hour course four years following the conclusion of the 32-hour supported scaffold installer and remover course. The student then must every four years retake the refresher course. Upon completion of the course, students will receive an eight hour supported scaffold installer/remover license that will be valid for four years.

Event Logistics: Swing Staging Training & Safety, LLC provides certification of specific OSHA and Scaffold operations and use. With presentation, equipment awareness, and physical interaction or widely used as well as new products in a classroom setting and practical operation of heavy equipment widely used throughout the industry in a practical room fitted with state of the art products. Students operate and fully inspect the live equipment they use and/or see on their job sites.

Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:

  • Acknowledge supported scaffold hazards and safety violations based on history and statistical data.
  • Discuss supported scaffold types and its crucial elements.
  • To examine and employ federal regulations and good work exercises that involve supported scaffold users on construction sites in New York City.
  • Inspect independently, supported scaffolds on construction sites using information administered throughout the course

Please bring the following items with you to class: Pen/Pencil, Paper to take notes, and a Photo ID. It is recommended to wear comfortable clothes and sneakers for the practical part of the course.
