32 Hour Suspended Scaffold Supervisor Training Application

Prerequisite: There are no prerequisites for this training course. However, students must be able to communicate with the instructor in the language that the training is provided in.

Audience: This training course is intended for competent employees who are involved with the supervision of suspended scaffolds and have at least 1 year of experience in rigging and hoisting. This training course is also constructive for superintendents, safety managers, and individuals who are preparing to apply for New York City Master or Special Rigger’s license

Event Description: According to 3314.4.5.3 of the 2014 NYC Construction Codes, New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) states it is mandatory to complete this 32 hour suspended scaffold supervisor training course in order supervise suspended scaffold activity on construction job sites in New York City. Students will establish and flourish essential management abilities needed to be a productive supervisor of suspended scaffolding duties, which also assists to the professional advancement of the employee and contributes to the confirmation that the employee is qualified to supervise. Utilizing OSHA Regulations and New York City Construction Codes, students will grasp concepts relating to following compliance with the present suspended scaffold regulations. Themes covered throughout the course is more thorough than the suspended scaffold user course. This course is comprised of: advice and direction on how to interpret scaffold design drawings, how to confirm that the fitness of the rigging crew is up to standards, prepare employees on workplace dangers, and how to recognize and properly respond in emergency circumstances. Consequent to successfully completing of the course, students will receive a 32 hour suspended scaffold supervisor course completion picture ID card valid for 4 years.

Event Logistics: Swing Staging Training & Safety, LLC provides certification of specific OSHA and Scaffold operations and use. With presentation, equipment awareness, and physical interaction or widely used as well as new products in a classroom setting and practical operation of heavy equipment widely used throughout the industry in a practical room fitted with state of the art products. Students operate and fully inspect the live equipment they use and/or see on their job sites.

Learning Outcomes: Consequent to the completion of the course, students should be able to:

  • Identity common suspended scaffold dangers founded on history and statistical data.
  • Administer different connection methods utilizing ropes, knots & hitches Assemble the wire rope termination for hoisting rope.
  • Describe suspended scaffold operations and their fundamental parts.
  • Display qualified abilities required to accurately setup and cultivate fall protection systems that will be utilized on suspended scaffolds.
  • Summarize the differences between OSHA and NYC DOB scaffold requirements.
  • Developed suspended scaffold inspection checklist.
  • Put together the block and tackle for a fiber rope light duty scaffold.
