10 Hour OSHA General Construction Safety Training Application

Prerequisite: There are no prerequisites for this training course. However students must be able to communicate with the instructor in the language that the training is provided in.

Audience: This training course is constructed by the US Department of Labor in order to administer supervisors, construction employees, and additional personnel accountable for construction tasks with the essential knowledge of construction safety and health dangers in the construction business.

Event Description: This 10 Hour OSHA construction course is to advertise workplace safety and health and to make employees highly educated on workplace dangers. The course also aims to make employees more knowledgeable on what their rights are as an employee. This course highlights the duties of employees in a dangerous workplace and methods to avoid the hazards. The course also reviews employee’s rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. The 10 hour training course is mainly designed for entry level employees. In accordance to New York City Local Law 41 from 2008 every employee operating construction work in major buildings must have successfully completed, within the last five calendar years, a ten hour OSHA training course approved by the United States Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration in construction industry safety and health. Consequent to the successful conclusion of the course, students will obtain a ten hour OSHA Construction Industry ID card from the OSHA Training Institute (OTI). Event Logistics: Swing Staging Training & Safety, LLC provides certification of specific OSHA and Scaffold operations and use. With presentation, equipment awareness, and physical interaction or widely used as well as new products in a classroom setting and practical operation of heavy equipment widely used throughout the industry in a practical room fitted with state of the art products. Students operate and fully inspect the live equipment they use and/or see on their job sites.

Learning Outcomes: Consequent to the completion of the course, students should be able to:

  • Describe procedures of regulating the four principal health dangers that construction employees may be prone to.
  • Analyze risks linked with hazardous use of scaffolds construction site. Acknowledge employee rights and employer responsibilities established by OSHA.
  • Describe principal focal points of the four hazards and identify ways to advert employee’s exposure.
  • Describe the crucial dangers that are prevailing when employees use ladders and stairways on construction job sites.
  • Describe ways to appropriately chose personal protective equipment (PPE) as well as lifesaving equipment.
